1964 Hofner F-Cut

This is my Hofner F-Cut hollowbody guitar from 1964. This guitar has to be one of the most special guitars in my collection. Everything on it is original and present. Nothing missing and nothing replaced. Even the strings. The price tag is still on it, too. I play it every now and then, but I will then have to wipe off 47 years of dust from myself. A true 'clunker' according to dear friend, Bo, who owns a 1937 Electar Century hollowbody. His one has been played and modified a lot, though.

All I currently know about this model is that I bought it from a pawn store selling secondhand guitars hanging from the ceiling in plastic bags.

In the late 1950's and early 1960's, German-made Hofner guitars served a growing army of young three-chord hopefuls in the UK. However, a good deal of this intense popularity was the result of the fact that Hofner guitars were, quite simply, available, rather than that they possessed any notable inherent quality.
